I Hustle for what I want – Jen Dang

About this week’s episode: A hustler doesn’t choose the “have to” path. Instead, a true hustler seeks out the “want to” path, even in the face of adversity. Jen Dang shares her story of how after trying the path that was expected of her, she took a sharp turn towards a journey fueled by “want” and has reaped the rewards in a career in the city of her dreams.

About our guest: Jen Dang is a communications professional and a lifestyle blogger with a passion for storytelling, travel and fashion. She earned a B.S. in Psychology and a J.D. from the University of Arizona, but her career has been anything but linear. During law school, she launched a personal style blog originally as a creative outlet. After graduating, she moved to New York City with two suitcases and no job – just a dream to one day work in the fashion industry (spoiler alert: she did and it was a bit anti-climactic). A few career twists and turns and industry switches later, she is now managers internal communications at a major U.S. airline and also continues to style outfits, edit photos and publish stories on her blog, Skirt The Rules. In her personal time, she and her husband are avid travelers, having recently visited Australia, Cuba and The Netherlands in the past three months and with many more destinations on their bucket list!
